West Kent Sunday League News Report Sunday 10th February 2019

A wet weekend put paid to all but four of Sunday's scheduled fixtures, including both Kent Sunday Cup ties. These have been rescheduled for next Sunday.

WKSFL Junior Cup

A 1-0 win for Tonbridge Origin at Yalding & Laddingford has opened up Group 1. The goal was scored by Criag Waller, the clean sheet kept by Jamie Holder  for his third of the season. In this group, the top two have yet to meet, while Origin have to face up against the bottom two.

Division One

Only one game was played and it was an important one. A 3-1 win for Artois United at Armada brings them to within three points of leaders Green Lane and with a game in hand. All the goals were scored during the first half, Harry Tampsett for the hosts and for visitors Artois United, who dominated that first period, Peter Shaw, Nathan Moseley and top scorer Stefan Draper found the back of the net. Armada had the better of the second half and created several chances but were unable to convert them.

Division Two

Again, only the one game and it was a thumping 7-0 win for Petts Wood Old Boys at home to Brenchley. A hat-trick by Jake Oke and a double strike from Ryan Dawkins paved the way. Oliver Yorke hit the sixth and an own goal was responsible for the seventh. Nick Rose kept his side's first clean sheet of the season. It was the Old Boys fourth successive League win and takes them into a challenging position. For Brenchley, a fifth heavy away defeat.
