The
new
football pitch at Batalha, Portugal
This is what our local councils need to do!
|
Batalha is in the centre of
Portugal. Population is 8,000 ie about the same size as Edenbridge or
Paddock Wood
|

The new ground from the outside. It was a VERY rainy day.
|

The 3G surface up close.
|

The pitch is marked out for seven a side and used just about every
night by all ages.
|

The poster outside tells that €429,000 Euros was spent - that's about
£386,000 and a very large investment indeed. It includes the as
yet uncompleted landscaping and training circuit ie outdoor gym.
|

This is the old pitch - the dreaded terra batida (gravel) pitch still
used for training.
|
They don't currently have a
senior team, U-19 is the highest level playing here.
All sorts of age group teams play here.
